When is the Chinese New Year Parade?

The parade will take place on January 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. stepping off at Sixth and I Street NW.

Where is the best place to view the parade and what time should we arrive?

The entire parade route is an excellent place to view the parade but it does get more crowded as you get closer to Chinatown. Seventh Street is a good place to watch the parade. Please arrive no later than 1:30 p.m.

Where are the handicap seatings?

Approximately 2½ hours.

What is the best way to get to the parade?

The Parade

On January 29, 2012, the Chinese community of the greater Washington metropolitan area is going to celebrate the “Chinese Lunar New Year 4710” in Washington, DC Chinatown.

The Chinese consolidated Benevolent Association, an umbrella organization representing thirty (30) Chinese-American organizations throughout the Greater Washington area will host the event. Over 40,000 are expected in attendance.
